Musical Activities of the UK Chinese Ensemble: 1994 - 2001

 

April, 2000: recording of music for the feature film "Shanghai Noon" with Randy Edelman.

January, 2000: release of their CD "Liu Shui: Flowing Water".

1999-2001: world tour with the Shaolin Monks' show "Shaolin Wheel of Life".

1999: recording of the production music CD "Music of China".

1999: performance at the British Museum for the Queen and the Chinese Premiere Zhang Zemin.

1999: performance in London with 9 musicians as part of  the celebrations for the return of Hong Kong to China.

February, 1999: performance with Karl Jenkins and and various musicians for Chinese New Year in Manchester, which was the subject of a half hour television documentary "Classic Challenge" on Channel 4 in December, 2000.

1994, 1995, 1997: performances at the Edinburgh Festival.

1994, 1996, 1998: performances in the Purcell Rooms, Southbank Centre, London.

1994: performance at the Jersey Folk Festival.

1994-present: workshops at various universities, schools, colleges and other venues.

regular performances for the Victoria & Albert Museum's summer activities (1992-1999)

recording for the Disney film "Mulan" (1996)
