Cheng Yu and her Five-stringed Pipa – a Cross-Cultural Music Creation


This album presents the first fruits of the five-stringed pipa project, four new compositions and one new arranged piece on the 5-stringed instrument created by Cheng Yu (for details see the 5-string pipa project in this website). The new works premiered in February 2005 in two London concerts (at SOAS, University of London, and Guildhall School of Music and Drama) and on BBC radio.
