Meeting 25 March 2012



Introduction

This, the 57th meeting of the London Youlan Qin Society, was held in the Malaysia Kopi Tiam Malaysian restaurant in Chinatown, central London.

Music

The following music was played:

  1. Meihua San Nong 梅花三弄 (Three Variations on the Plum Blossom), played by Rafael Caro Repetto
  2. Yu Qiao Wen Da 渔樵问答 (Dialogue of the Fisherman and the Woodcutter), played by Charles Tsua
  3. Lu Ming 麓鸣 (Call of the Deer), played by Ashley Guan
  4. Kongzi Du Yi 孔子读易 (Confucius Reading the Book of Changes), played by Tang Lijiang
  5. Liu Shui 流水 (Flowing Water), played by Cheng Yu
  6. Tian Lai 天籁 (Sounds of Nature), played by Julian Joseph
  7. Ping Sha Luo Yan 平沙落雁 (Wild Geese Descending on the Level Sand), played by Cheng Yu (qin) and Dennis Lee (xiao)
  8. Guanshan Yue 关山月 (Moon Over the Mountain Pass), played by Cheng Yu (qin) and Dennis Lee (xiao), with recital of the lyrics in Chinese and English

The LYQS was delighted to welcome one new member who joined during this meeting: Jenny Zhao, who learned the qin in Shanghai.
